Compact pre-installed Windows 95 hard disk image and AUTOEXEC.BAT file packaged for DOSBox, which runs in the browser thanks to hard work of contributors to Em-DOSBox, DOSBox, Emscripten, and web browser engines.

This was originally hosted at win95.ajf.me, a site created by myself in May 2015, and inspired by the Internet Archive's DOS game emulation efforts (and using the same tech). Now it's on the Internet Archive itself. You can still go to that site if you want to know more about how this was done.

Well it kind of lags, but there is no problems with the emulator. But the audio lags a tiny bit, but not really that much. It's good if you don't want to install VirtualBox or VMware.

Subject: Not bad ... Good for what it can do.

Good for running some programs that won't run on Windows 3.1.
Not enough HD space, so I created 1GB virtual HD and injected it into the file, using winimage.
You can run programs that need 256 colors by searching Google to download vbemp.inf. Put the file in your virtual drive, right click on the Windows 95 desktop, click settings, click change display type, click change adapter, click have disk, and look for the vbemp.inf file to install. Now you can run those programs that need 256 colors.

Subject: Yea It Crashes sometimes, But it's in your web browser!

There's kinda lag, but that's because it's windows 95 trying to run in 2022. One thing i've noticed is it crashes when you set the date anywhere past 1999. i also tried to switch to a 256 colour palette, but it froze up. overall, four out of five stars.
U P D A T E ! : I also later found Internet explorer, but when I clicked the icon, and acknowledged the pop-up box, it crashed.
please fix it.

a n d a n o t h e r t h i n g : Why is that each time I boot up the emulator, I have to run Microsoft ScanDisk? It starts getting old and annoying after a while. If you could fix this problem, I'd be grateful For life.
P.S. to all the people who are saying "it's Slow": Windows 95 itself wasn't all that fast!!!

Subject: PLEASE use PCEM (latest version available) for actual heavy use of Windows 95 up to 2000/ME. This is meant to be a joke on purpose!

In other words for those who have various issues with this please FOR HEAVEN SAKES PLEASE use PCEM V17 instead of this,

Get the bios master pack/make a file called (Roms) then paste all the bios in there THEN PCEM will turn on so you can configure a new virtual machine:

When you do that try starting out with a Socket 7 Pentium 200ish as most low end PC's can handle that especially emulating 95 as 98 is more of a resource hog.

The web deb clearly wanted this to be a joke OS just for shits and giggles and it worked. Too many people are taking a joke hobby too seriously.

I want to start off by saying that this is awesome, I can't believe that someone managed to create an entire working windows 95 computer online. This is so much fun to just mess around on and get a taste of what they back in 1995 had to use. It does tend to take a while to boot up and sometimes crashes at random, but aside from that, it's really amazing and I would certainly recommend it to anyone.
